Two Olney locations made the list as the most dangerous intersections in Philadelphia, from a bicycle advocate group’s report.

The commercial stretch of Fifth Street and Olney Avenue is listed at the most accident-prone intersection in the city with 19 pedestrian-involved crashes from 2009 to 2013. The always-busy section of Broad Street and Olney Avenue is tied with three other intersections with 16 reported crashes. Olney was also listed as having 64 crashes from 2009 through 2013.

The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia used 2009-2013 crash data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for its recent report. The group proposes implementing a Vision Zero initiative in Philadelphia that includes changes to infrastructure, car technology and traffic safety.
